Gaza: Bin Laden accuses Arabs of complicity with Israel, advocated jihad

Sunday, 15 March 2009

The head of Al-Qaeda Osama bin Laden accused Arab countries of "complicity" with Israel and its Western allies during the recent offensive of the Hebrew state in the Gaza Strip, according to a registration issued Saturday by the television channel Al-Jazeera.

"It is clear that some Arab leaders have been complicit with the Zionist alliance and cross (in war) against our people (in Gaza). These are the leaders of countries that America calls + + moderate," said Ben Laden in the new audio message attributed to it.

Saudi Arabia and Egypt, allies of Washington, had led the camp opposed to Hamas, a master of the Gaza Strip during the Israeli offensive, in the face in Qatar and Syria in particular who had placed alongside the Islamist movement.

This vast military operation from 27 December to 18 January, had devastated the area and killed over 1300 Palestinians.

The head of Al-Qaeda has also taken to all leaders of Muslim countries "from Indonesia to Mauritania (...) have nothing to do with Islam", by denouncing Also armed Islamist groups, it does not identify, for "betraying Gaza and its inhabitants."

"The holocaust of Gaza after a long blockade is an important historic event, which requires a rift between Muslims and the hypocrites," he added in reference to the Israeli blockade imposed on Palestinian territory.

This recording is played two weeks of a planned Arab summit in Doha, and which must be dominated by the aftermath of the war in Gaza.

"We need serious action and prepare for jihad to defend the rights" of Palestinians as "we must deny those who were accomplices of the enemy against our people" in Gaza, added the head of Al Qaeda.

In the excerpts aired by Al-Jazeera, bin Laden made no reference to Hamas.

"The road to the liberation of Gaza need real leaders sincere, independent, strong, honest, and are up to these major events," he said, proposing the creation of a steering committee with branches in Muslim countries. "

"We need to find countries other than the neighbors (of Israel) which leave the Mujahidin to open the borders by force and reach our people in the land of Al-Aqsa mosque" in Jerusalem. He suggested starting with Iraq and move to Jordan, the West Bank and to "liberate all of Palestine from the river to the sea", referring to historical Palestine, which includes the current state of Israel.

In Washington, a senior U.S. counter-terrorism felt that this message did nothing new, adding, under cover of anonymity, that he was "tired themes by Al Qaeda."

The latest bin Laden's comments illustrate the violent ideology of al-Qaeda has responded in turn a senior U.S. State Department.

The last message from bin Laden was on January 14, just days before the inauguration of U.S. President Barack Obama. He warned Mr Obama against the opening of new fronts and criticized the "passivity" facing the Arab Israeli offensive in Gaza.

Tracked but so far not found Osama bin Laden, whose head is priced for $ 25 million by the United States, claimed responsibility for the attacks of 11 September 2001. He would hide in areas inaccessible to the borders of Afghanistan and Pakistan.
